FAQs

The following are the most commonly asked questions I have received over the years from readers of my blog.

Q: How did you come up with the name BateBook? / Is the name BateBook an erotic play on the name Facebook?

A: When trying to come up with a name, I thought about what people (especially guys) would likely be doing while reading the stories (masturbating aka bating) and the fact that the blog with all of its stories is like a digital stroke book... so bating + stroke book = BateBook.

Q: Why do you label gay stories as 'All Male' instead of Gay?

A: Not all stories involving only males are necessarily gay stories. By that I mean, that while the activities may be between men, they may not be considered gay acts by the males engaging in them - for example, a story about two straight guys masturbating together. Labeling the stories as gay may inhibit straight males from reading them, even if some of these all-male stories, such as the example given, may contain scenarios that would interest them.

Q: Why don't you list stories involving only bi or bi-curious men as bisexual? These men aren't gay.

A: The sexual orientation or curiosities of the people involved doesn't dictate how the story is categorized - the sex acts do. A story that only involves men, regardless of whether they identify as bisexual, bi-curious, or straight, is still an all-male story. Bisexual stories include men and women having sex with the same and opposite sex. After all, if a story had a gay man trying sex with a woman and they were the only two involved sexually in the story, you would not expect the story to be categorized as a gay story (all-male) just because the guy is gay.

Q: Why are there more gay (all-male) stories on your blog than straight and bi ones?

A: The main reason for this is that the all-male stories get the most views, with these views far exceeding those of the straight and bisexual stories. Straight stories have the lowest number of views, and it's hard to find good bisexual stories... most I find are all-male stories involving bi and/or bi-curious males, which is not a bisexual story. (See above.)

Q: What does it mean when a story says it was written by you and another author or by you with 'original premise by'?

A: If a story indicates it was written by another author and myself, this means I have added a significant amount of new content to the original story. Sometimes, that content will be added throughout the story or I will continue the story from where the original author ended it, or a combination of the two.

When a story indicates me as the author with the original premise by someone else, that means I have taken the general premise of a story and written a new story based on it. The majority of the words are my own, but a sentence or paragraph from the original story may remain here and there throughout.

Stories that indicate only me as the author are stories I have written from scratch.

Q: Why do some stories have pictures and some don't?

A: In a perfect world, they would all have pictures, however, sometimes I just can't find a photo that works with the story.

Q: Do you edit other authors' stories?

A: Yes. I will edit for things like spelling errors, wrong forms of words used, missing quotes for speech text, creating paragraphs if none exist, dividing long paragraphs into shorter ones, and rephrasing sentences (Example: From "I asked my boyfriend Chris last night if he wanted to go to the movies and he said yes, so we went." to "Last night, my boyfriend Chris and I went to the movies.", and replacing any internet slang with proper words, (Example: From "You're so funny, lol." to "You're so funny," I laughed.), etc. I will also do things such as remove contradictions and change character descriptions - hair from brown to black, boxers to boxer briefs or briefs, etc. - if needed, in order to match the photo being used. However, other than the things noted above (with the exception of descriptions) I do not alter true experience stories or add any content to them.

Q: Why do you always put yourself in your stories?

A: I'm aroused by the situations I write about (some of which I wouldn't actually want to do in real life) and so I am picturing myself in those situations when visualizing the story in my head. Of course, my physical description and dick size will vary to fit the character. Also, it's a lot easier to use my name in my stories rather than having to come up with different male names every time I write one.

Q: Why do I have to sign in to your blog or create an account to do so? I never had to before.

A: Google, which owns Blogger, implemented a new policy in early 2023 that requires people to sign in to view Blogger blogs that contain adult content. This is done to verify the user's age. A Gmail account is the same thing as a Google account and this account can be used to sign in to Blogger blogs. No one will know that you are signing in to an adult blog, and if you ever wanted to comment on posts, you can do that anonymously. As most are probably aware, Gmail accounts are free to create.

The following question doesn't relate to the stories/blog, however, it is the question I have been asked the most, so I decided to post it here as well.

Q: How big is your cock?

A: My penis is a little under 5 inches when erect.
